API Days Melbourne: Connecting Humans and Powering AI with APIs 🚀

Welcome to the 10th edition of API Days Melbourne! It’s fantastic to see this vibrant community gathered here, ready to dive deep into the world of APIs and architecture. This year’s conference promises to be an incredible journey, packed with insights, networking opportunities, and a special focus on how APIs are becoming the backbone of the AI revolution.

A Thriving Community & Global Reach 🌍

API Days isn’t just an event; it’s a global movement. With roots in Paris 13 years ago, the conference series has blossomed into over 80 events across 10 countries, connecting more than 100,000 attendees and a community of 300,000 people worldwide. A special shout-out to Soul Kaganov, who ten years ago, brought this incredible series to Australia. Thank you, Soul, for making it all happen!

Building Blocks of API Days:

The organizers are dedicated to empowering the API community with valuable resources and initiatives.

    • The landscape is a living document; feedback on additions or updates is highly encouraged! You can find a printed version at the event entrance and a live web version with a search engine.
  • Women in APIs Community:
    • An initiative focused on ensuring women in tech are seen and heard in the public domain.
    • Aims to boost confidence and encourage participation in conferences and speaking engagements, particularly for female engineers, architects, and designers.
    • Features a dedicated Women in APIs breakfast during the conference.
    • Membership has grown significantly since its start in 2020, now boasting over 1200 members.

Conference Etiquette: Making the Most of Your Experience ✨

  • Rule of Two Feet: If a session isn’t meeting your expectations, feel free to use your “two feet” and move to another room. No offense taken!
  • The Hallway Track: Don’t underestimate the power of hallway conversations! This is often where some of the most valuable connections and impromptu discussions happen.
  • Social Media: Share your insights and experiences using the hashtag #APIDaysMelbourne. You can also find us on most social networks at @APIDaysGlobal.
